Chitosan Nanoparticles Production: Optimization of Physical Parameters, Biochemical Characterization, and Stability upon Storage

Ionic gelation is among the simplest processes for development of chitosan nanoparticles reported so far in literature. Its one-shot synthesis process conjunction with mild reaction conditions required are main causes its success. In this work, we sought to optimize a set physical parameters associated ionic at two different pH values. Following that, NPs’ freeze-drying and long-term storage stability were assayed, their biocompatibility HaCat cells was evaluated. The results show that NPs more homogenously produced 5, value, it possible obtain optimum production conditions. Furthermore, assayed parameters, TPP addition time overall which had significant impact on NPs. Nanoparticle led particle aggregation, and, cryoprotectants, mannitol 10% (w/v) presented best performance, as stable maintained size charge assay. Lastly, no toxicity towards cell line.
